We usually prefer to interface with our couples as much as possible before their big day for several reasons but unfortunately, that is just not always possible. Savanah and Danny had a photographer lined up but an emergency meant they would not be able to attend. We were contacted and were happy to fill in last minute to capture their wedding day!
Savanah and Danny were both people with a deep sense of value for family, both had special sentimental items that were integrated in the ceremony and reception to honor family members who had passed and were only able to attend in spirit. Don’t get me wrong though, the party was plenty lively! The reception was quite the party (as it should be) with both sides of this new family coming together to celebrate Savanah and Danny’s marriage in a big way. The DJ had the dance floor full in no time and it stayed that way until the end of the night. The Crotty’s had a portrait station set up during their reception where guests could take photos of themselves for the bride and groom. What an excellent way to capture the memory of those who attended! Though we do our best, there seems to be people who have a sixth sense of where the professional photographers are and do a great job of evading us somehow!
The Stables at Strawberry Creek in Knoxville Tennessee provided an excellent setting for the Crotty wedding. The Stables, as you might have guessed, is a converted horse stable gone wedding venue. It is well suited for small to medium indoor weddings and they’re equipped to host just about any size of outdoor wedding. They feature amenities such as an on site cabin, a bar in the reception area, and plenty of indoor/covered space for the after party. The lighting is warm and inviting and it’s not hard to see why these rustic themed weddings have caught on in a big way in the last few years as a romantic setting in which to host your wedding.
The Crotty’s made it a point to honor those that had passed and weren’t able to attend their big day. It was nothing short of touching to see those that had impacted the couple’s lives so profoundly, those that no doubt, shaped the decisions through their lives that ultimately brought them together, remembered throughout the day. The Crotty wedding was one that made me reflect on my own life and family. It made me consider that it’s important to tell loved ones what they mean to you while you can. Be sure to appreciate those people and your relationships with them while you can still thank them for their contribution to your life. Doing this job is often that way, it doesn’t happen every time but that’s what makes it special and keeps us coming back for more!
